Resolution update and Fashion musings.

I’ve been keeping up with my new year’s resolution!

Although I’m tempted every day, and fighting an online shopping addiction, I have only purchased one pair of shoes so far (accessories is ok, although not encouraged). I’m almost considering going back to Polyvore or Pinterest just to satiate my shopping needs.

The fight continues!

I can’t believe this spring/summer the 70’s are back in full force. Printed ethnic inspired tunics? Breezy long sleeved shirts? It’s totally my summer aesthetic, and I can’t even participate.

Thankfully, before I made my resolution I purchased some nice 70’s dresses that will work great for Sundays. I’ll make do with what I have, all the while compiling the list of basics (new and vintage sourced) that I want for my 2014 wardrobe.

Trying to stick to a signature, edited style has been difficult, but I think a year of not buying clothes (which means more wear and tear to my old, unfashionable favorites) will help me reevaluate what I want to be wearing, where I’ll be buying them, and save money for more expensive items that have longer lifespans.

Frye really has the best shoes. I can’t wait for summer so I can wear this pair with everything! This pair is so classic, and the heel is at most 2”, so it’s chic and manageable! I’ve been wearing my Melissa Button boots a lot too.
Between Fry and United Nude shoes, I must seem like such a paradox. Classic, Modern, and then throw in my work casual frump…

I just bought a pair of coated jeans, and now I want to make my cheap, fading $10 pair of H&M skinnies into a diy project. I’m thinking of doing the back pockets and the knees. Hm. Have to see if it’s worth it to buy the material.

Anyway, I know which jeans I’m wearing all winter! Coated jeans are pretty waterproof too!

The jeans I bought are from Madewell, I got them on sale. They fit perfectly, since I’m 5’4”, the ankle fit doesn’t even show my ankles. They’re exactly the right length I hem my jeans to normally.

For a slob like me, having some versatile but slightly edgy clothes really help me look less frumpy. I’ve been suffering from extra frump lately. Hopefully fall season means less frump.
